Why Families Love to Go on Holiday to Kyrenia

Located on the north coast of the beautiful place Cyprus, is the amazing town of Kyrenia. This land is so much known for the exquisite history which it holds proudly having the very unique and spectacular remains and ruins of the innumerable civilizations.

In fact, the long natural beaches, and mild climates and calm seas just add a feather to its typical Mediterranean aura. Bounded northwards with a clear blue sea and southwards by lush green Besparmak Mountain Range, the land offers the most spectacular of the views to be held by your eye. Kyrenia has some of the self catering holidays in Cyprus.

There are quite a lot of places that can be visited and many amazing activities that can be undertaken here, but some of them remain just the exclusive and the most favored ones.

For instance, the ancient castle whose origins is not known but is believed to have been built by great Byzantines of the seventh century is one place that should not be missed.

Having a rich history behind it, this Kyrenia Castle lies just next to the harbor and was once also used as a prison by the British for holding the war prisoners. There are some good value holiday villas in Kyrenia that can be rented by tourists in this region.

Another great attraction of the place is the Shipwreck Museum that lies within the Kyrenia Castle. This is though a small museum but it houses a great wreck of an old wooden merchant-ship well preserved.

This ship is believed to be as old as 306 BC and was found in the year of 1967 off Kyrenia coast. The cargo of this ship, clay jugs (amphorae) was filled with almonds and olives is relatively said to be intact still.

When you stroll around the place, you can not help but indulge in the great penchant for shopping. As the very experience of exploring the Kyrenian markets is as blissful as the place itself, you will find yourself getting involved in the flavor of the place itself.

The cobbled narrow alleys of the place and the local markets provide with a sense of aesthetics. In fact, the cafes can be stopped by at to have a cup of coffee while you bask in the glory of the beauty of Kyrenia. Many holiday makers choose to rent self catering apartments in Kyrenia and use them as a base to experience the local culture.

The fairy tale castle of the St. Hilarion is a tourist spot that is loved specifically by children, though it is an exciting place for adults as well. This castle is the one that is well rumored to the one that played a great part in inspiring Walt Disney's fairy tale story, "The Sleeping Beauty". This castle was built while the crusades were going on.

Last but not the least, the Bellapais Village is one enchanting location that is a must visit. This exquisite village overlooks the town and provides an exquisite view.

The ancient abbey of it offers a very peaceful environ for blissful hill walking experience. This abbey is really legendary and is set amidst the great mountains providing with a very exotic feel to the very journey. As the place is calm with fresh air and lush green surroundings, you will feel at the very lap of nature.

It is now so easy to see why Kyrenia has become such a popular holiday destination in Cyprus. Holiday makers are drawn here by the good weather, great food and superb selection of holiday villas and self catering holiday apartments in Kyrenia that can be rented as holiday homes in Cyprus.

Don't Forget Your Towel - Create a Holiday Checklist

It's supposed to be the most relaxing period of the year, but planning for a holiday can be more stressful than many people realise. As a result, it is often the case that people forget to do something, perhaps not even remembering until just before they're due to leave.

It's true, there really is always something. Whether it's your sunglasses, sun block or sundries for the journey, most people tend to experience a holiday syndrome where something always gets left behind.

Sometimes, it's a little more significant. Anybody who has forgotten their passport in the past could tell you that; but there are ways to avoid forgetting anything at all, however, and simple ones at that. Lists are one of the easiest ways to stay organised when it comes to checking that you're prepared.

As far in advance as possible, draft up a list of everything you'll need - and that's everything, from flight itineraries to how many pairs of socks you'll need to tide you over (including, of course, a couple of extras in case it rains). Glance at it every now and then to make sure you've got everything that's required and, presumably, over a period of possible amendments, you'll have a finished version of your holiday checklist.

It doesn't need to be a big deal - a few minutes every now and then should more than suffice. It also means that if you need to apply for anything, like travel insurance or an NHS European Health Insurance card, or even book flights, ferries or accommodation, or even renewing your passport you'll run less risk of being too late.

A few days before you're due to head off, it's time to start packing. This means you'll be able to wash clothes so they'll be ready to pack rather than waiting until the last minute and discovering the things you wanted to take are lying in the washing hamper. It also means you'll realise which items have currently gone AWOL and require some searching. This usually happens to your passport, so advance preparation is pretty essential unless you enjoy frantic hunting ten minutes before you're supposed to leave.

Choosing your clothes is an easy enough ordeal. Work from the underwear out, considering the climate of your destination, as well as how predictable the weather is and its night-time temperature. Will you need a cagoule? What about sandals?

Read up on where you're heading and ask people that have been before what they think you should take with you. Remember, however, that if you're flying out, many airlines have baggage weight limits and will charge a considerable fee for bags that are too heavy, so you should pack accordingly to those limits. Bear in mind, also, that there's a chance your case or bag might come back heavier with anything you purchase while away, so aim a fair amount under the weight limit if you're a fan of holiday shopping.

Finally, don't panic if you do forget things. As long as you've got your passport, travel insurance and your all-important towel, you'll be fine - you can always get shampoo once you arrive.

Holiday Escapes to Beautiful Botswana

Botswana is internationally acclaimed for its supreme and unforced combination of tourism and wildlife. 17% of the country is proclaimed protected and a further 20% made up of wildlife management areas. With its eclectic mix of serenely beautiful landscapes and some of the largest populations of wildlife species found in Africa, Botswana is a premier holiday destination amongst adventure and eco-tourists. Although the country is rich in cultural and historical heritage Botswana's main tourist attractions are the national parks.
Of the many parks and reserves which make up this magnificent country there are three definite must sees when travelling to Botswana.

The Okavango Delta

Undoubtedly the most striking region in the country the Okavango Delta is situated in the Kalahari Desert and is the greatest inland delta system in the world. A natural wonderland of a thousand islands in a thousand streams, born of a great river's determination top meet the sea which it never will, as its strengths are captured by the desert sands which surround the delta.

The delta ranks amongst the finest of wetlands in the world and from above it is a vast, fan shaped, emerald wilderness of waterways, lakes, lagoons and lush forests. Over 1000 species of plant can be found in the delta and the rivers are teeming with fish, 80 species overall which in turn draws many birds to the area, the Delta is in fact one of the most celebrated bird watching and angling regions in Africa. The few people who in fact permanently live here are mainly fishermen. Undoubtedly the best way to view this natural wonder is by means of a mokoro which is a dug-out canoe that manoeuvres swiftly through the waters near impenetrable areas. The waters are crystal clear and crocodiles, hippos and hundreds of fabulous birds can be seen as well as elephants, zebras and giraffes. The only area in the Okavango that is protected is the Moremi National Park; the rest of the delta is carved up into giant private concessions, sprinkled with luxury lodges.

The Okavango Delta has three main areas, the Panhandle which a 15km wide fault in the northwest offers superb fishing but less spectacular game viewing; the central permanent swamp, with its maze of pans and water meadows and the arid seasonal swamps to the south and east. In the months of August to November the Okavango is hot and dry which makes for magnificent game viewing but low waters which often prevent mokoro trips. From December to March the region is hot and wet prompting game to disappear into the undergrowth but this is when bird and plant life is at its best.

As independent travel is very difficult in the delta region the majority of visitors get to experience these amazing swamplands with the help of tour operators who offer package deals to the region.

The Moremi Wildlife Reserve

Acclaimed for its sheer beauty and intense variety of wildlife, this park covers 1812 sq km and is located in the northeast corner of the Okavango Delta. Comprised of lush wetlands, forested islands, lagoons, woodlands and grasslands the Moremi Wildlife Reserve offers spectacular game viewing accompanied by gorgeous landscapes. There are no artificial borers and human encroachment is kept to a minimum, which facilitates game viewing of such excellent nature. Some of the animals you will be able to view are Elephant, Buffalo, Zebra, Kudu, various herds of Buck, Lion, Leopard and Wild Cats. The parks dry months which span from April to October are the best months for game viewing; it is also during this time that the impressive herds of Elephants converge on the Khwai River.

The park is home to over 400 species of bird making it one of Botswana's prime birding areas. The Pelicans, Ibises, Herons and Storks are only some of the species which bring gorgeous splashes of colour and sweet melodies to the area. The reserve is one of the most beautiful unmarred spots in Botswana and a trip to its tranquil plains is highly recommended.

The Chobe National Park

Botswana's common border with Namibia's Caprivi region has been set aside for one of Africa's premier wildlife conservation parks. The Chobe National Park occupies 10,566 sq km of land and is home to a splendid variety of wildlife. The park is comprised of rivers, swamps, scrublands, grassy savannah and natural pans.

One of the most magnificent sights to behold here are the elephants who move in their thousands along the well-worn paths of the Chobe River every afternoon to drink. Boasting the highest elephant population in the world (approximately 45,000) is but one of the Chobe National Park's drawcards. There are also large herds of Buffalo, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Kudu, Impala and Sable while the wetlands are home to impressive numbers of Hippo and Crocodile as well as an eclectic range of birds. The Savuti area of the park marks what was once the massive super lake which covered most of Botswana, its flat dry lakebed is now a sea of grass which is renowned for spotting Leopard, Cheetahs, Hyena and Lion.

With the exception of certain sections, which are closed in the rainy season during November to April, the park is open throughout the year. The best time to visit it is between May and September when it is possible to see several thousand animals each day. Even though the Chobe National Park is one of Botswana's most developed reserves, many of the roads in the area are only accessible by 4X4 vehicles. Many visitors to the park chose a package option which includes luxury accommodation; safari drives various other guided expeditions.

With the wide range of activities, accommodation and travel option on offer in this magnificent country, a holiday in the wilderness regions of Botswana is made easy and accessible for all tourists. Many tour operators offer exceptional package deals which allow you to experience the true essence of Africa.

Holiday on the Cote D Azur - Let a Valbonne Villa

Have a Relaxing Cote D'Azur Holiday in a Villa in Valbonne

Naturally, when one thinks of Cote d'Azur, the holiday destinations of Cannes and Nice often come up. But you should consider that not all of Cote d'Azur is as over-developed and as crowded as Cannes and Nice. In the village of Valbonne, you will find the restful solitude that you may desire on your Cote d'Azur holiday.

Why Spend a Cote d'Azur Holiday in Valbonne

There are a number of quiet villages along the Cote d'Azur where you can spend the restful holiday that you are looking for, but why should you pick Valbonne? One big reason to choose Valbonne is that the village is unique and unusual amongst the other villages on the Cote d'Azur.

Most of the villages on the Cote d'Azur are built in such a way that they spiral along the side of a hill. Their roadways would therefore twist and meander within the village. But this is not the case with Valbonne. Unlike the other villages, Valbonne is constructed using a grid pattern, just like how the old Roman cities are laid out.

This uniqueness of Valbonne is attributed to the fact that Italian artisans built the village in the 15th century. The design of the village is the masterwork of Augustin de Grimaldi, who at the time served as the bishop of Grasse and the abbot of Lerins. The village was established as an attempt to repopulate that portion of the Cote d'Azur after the Black Death.

If you are a history buff, that is probably a fact that you would greatly appreciate, as you spend your holiday on the Cote d'Azur. There are other historical places of interest here in Valbonne, such as:

the town square, which has remained unchanged since the establishment of the village; the Place de Arcades, also found in the Valbonne town centre; and the monastery of the Chalaisian Order, a 12th century edifice built in the Romanesque and Gothic architectural style.

You can still enjoy the beauty of Valbonne even if you are not a history buff. Simply spend your Cote d'Azur holiday lounging at the Valbonne villa that you have rented, take leisurely strolls about the town, or take afternoon hikes on the village's nature trails. You can rent a villa that is near the golf courses located in Valbonne.

Why Rent a Villa in Valbonne

If you are wondering why you should rent a villa in Valbonne, here is one good reason. By renting a villa during your stay in Valbonne, you can live the way the locals live, and this is always a great way to spend a holiday on the Cote d'Azur. Moreoever, a villa in Valbonne will offer more comfort and privacy rather than staying at a hotel. Also, if you are travelling with a group, it may be more economical for you to stay at a villa rather than a hotel on your visit to Valbonne.

Even if you are not staying at a hotel, you can still use a Valbonne villa as a base for the more exciting activities that you can undertake on your vacation. There are many options open to you on your holiday at the Cote d'Azur.

How to Make a Traditional Holiday Fruit Cake

During the holiday season, I like to spend an afternoon making some delicious homemade mini fruit cakes. Making and serving these delectable goodies has been around for centuries. You will usually see them served around the holiday season or at wedding celebrations.

You will find that various cultures will have a different twist on the traditional recipe, however, the following recipe is done in the American tradition. When I make this fruit cake, I bake them in a muffin tin or in mini loaf pans. If desired, you can certainly bake them in a regular loaf pan or round cake pan.

Fruit Cake Recipe

1 1/3 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

2 cups eggnog

1 1/2 cups mixed candied fruits

1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

additional eggnog

(optional) candied cherry halves

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar with the softened butter until it's light and creamy. Beat in both eggs until combined. In another bowl, stir together the flour and baking powder. Slowly stir the flour mixture into the sugar mixture and then beat in the eggnog until all ingredients are well combined. Fold in the chopped candied fruits. If the mixture is stiff, stir by hand.

Lightly spray your muffin or mini loaf pans with nonstick vegetable cooking spray. Spoon the batter into your desired pans. Place pans into a preheated 350 degree oven and bake for 20-22 minutes or until they are done and the centers test clean with a toothpick. Remove from the pans and let cool on a wire rack.

In a small bowl, combine the confectioner's sugar, nutmeg and ground cinnamon. Add in enough eggnog to make the mixture of drizzling consistency. Drizzle the glazed over the cooled fruit cakes.

If desired, top the fruit cakes with candied cherry halves for garnishing and store them in an airtight storage container.

Punta Cana Weather - Best and Worst Months to Go

The Punta Cana weather forecast usually calls for warm and beautiful days, but there are times when it is not so beautiful.

This resort enclave in the Dominican Republic is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean. Because of the resorts and beaches, visitors often stay on property for the entire vacation and take advantage of Punta Cana's typical Caribbean weather.

The average monthly high temperature is less than 85 degrees Fahrenheit and average low is less than 74 degrees, the World Meteorological Organization says. On a day-to-day basis, however, the actual temperature can vary widely.

Temperatures stay in a narrow range throughout the year with an average high of 87 degrees in August and September compared to an average high of 82 degrees in January and December.

Rainfall in Punta Cana is normal for most places in the Caribbean. The monthly average is 3.6 inches, while typically it rains about 9.5 days during month.

Rainfall jumps to nearly five inches in May, which is the month with the second most rain during the year. October sees the heaviest average rainfall with six inches total. February and March have the least rain, averaging about 2 inches each.

March and July are the most popular months for tourists to visit. September and October are the most unpopular months because they are the peak months for the Caribbean hurricane season.

Rainfall and temperatures make March, April and July ideal months to visit Punta Cana. Rainfall makes October, followed by May and November as the worst months to visit. September is not far behind.

A good way to keep in touch with everyone - new friends, family, girlfriends or boyfriends, work colleagues etc when you are on your overseas vacation is by getting your hands on a mobile phone (cell phone). Here's what you need to do.

There's a couple of ways to go about it. Firstly you can bring your own mobile phone from home, and buy a low cost SIM card which means you'll get a completely new number you can use in your particular country. As long as this SIM card fits OK into your phone, then this is a good option as it saves you buying a new mobile phone.

But sometimes, the SIM won't fit, so you'll have to buy new (or used). This is not as difficult as you might think. It's basically a matter of going to a local telephone shop or department store (they literally have hundreds of cell phone shops) and browsing for a nice, reasonably new model that looks like it's been well cared for and not thrown around by a jealous boyfriend!

When you purchase your phone (you'd be amazed how cheaply priced you can pick up a recent or new model mobile phone in some countries!) grab yourself a SIM card and number as well. You can buy a SIM and number for about $6. Plug the card into your phone, put some dollars in, and you're ready to roll.

To top up your phone, buy a $2-20 scratch card, scratch the code off, enter the number into your phone and you're good to go. Otherwise walk into any local mobile shop and ask for an 'online' top up or point to your phone - they'll know what you mean. After you've paid the $2-$3 or thereabouts, you'll have your own unique number you can give to all your new friends!

Things to Do in Boston

Boston is a city steeped in American history and lore. It is the largest city in New England and has a wealth of experiences to offer any traveler. Over the years Boston has enjoyed a steady increase in tourism, and is now one of the top 10 tourist sites in the United States. The best time to visit Boston is during the spring or summer, especially May through September.

There are myriad options for getting into Boston, with Logan International Airport being the easiest. The airport services every major international airline, as well as serving as a hub for domestic flights and connections. The airport is not far out of town, and taxis as well as shuttles are cheap going to the city center. Trains and buses also service Boston, it serves as an Amtrak hub and there are numerous bus lines coming from the entire northeast region. The best thing about arriving in Boston after a long trip is that it has fantastic public transportation and is laid out as a walking city, so a car is unnecessary.

There are too many sights to see on just one trip, but these are some of the top-rated experiences from people in the know:

o The Boston Museum of Fine Arts houses impressive collections of French Impressionistic art, as well as huge collections of Japanese and Greek artifacts.
o The New England Aquarium until recently held the largest fish tank in the world, and is still an excellent choice for anyone that loves aquatic life.
o The Panopticon Gallery, founded in the 1970s, is dedicated solely to photography and has excellent contemporary works.
o The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile walk through historic sites that played integral roles in America's war for independence.
o Boston's local brewery, Sam Adams, offers tours with free beer samples throughout.
o If baseball season is on, no trip to Boston would be complete without catching a Red Sox game at Fenway Park!
o Schools like MIT and Harvard, some of the most prestigious in the world, reside in Boston and offer campus tours for free.

Boston is known far and wide for its incredible bar scene, and it is not uncommon to see one or two bars on nearly every block. The most dense concentrations of bars can be found on Canal Street, Downtown Crossing, around Fenway, and Harvard Square. Irish pubs abound, and many tourists try to find their own "perfect" watering hole. Tired bar goers can find their caffeine fix at any of the innumerable Dunkin' Donuts locations around Boston, the city where it was born. Dining in Boston is like most metropolitan cities, in that there is something to be found for everyone. If there are two things New England and Boston in particular are known for when it comes to food, they are clam chowder and lobster. Both should be sampled before leaving the city.

Boston is one of America's great cities, and everyone should make a visit at least once.

Jakh Temple of Kutch

Come to the Kutch region of Gujarat, India and you are sure to see lots of temples devoted to various gods and goddesses. However, there is one temple in the region which is devoted to horse riders called Jakhs or Yaksha. Situated near the Nakhtrana town, this temple has an interesting story.

Story of Jakhs

According to the folklore a shipwreck near the Jakhau port brought 72 persons possibly of Iranian origin to Kutch. These people were good samaritans. Travelling with a lantern they went around treating people with medicines they carried in boxes. They rode horses to go around the region. This is said to have happened nearly 600 years ago.

According to some historians these people got the name of Jakh because they came to the Jakhau port of Kutch. Others say that their name is derived from the word "Yaksh" which means divine persons.

Horsemen Saviors

Whatever may be true about them, the Jakhs seem to have done good to the local people. These horsemen had come at a very opportune time for the people of Kutch. For a very cruel ruler called Pun-ara reigned over the region persecuting the populace. His wrath seems to have been directed specially towards people around the Nakhtrana region in the eastern Kutch.

When people heard of these white-robed Jakhs, they went to them for treatment of their ailments and also for possible relief from the atrocities of the ruler.

As characters in such legends are said to have magical powers, this ruler Pun-ara was no exception. He had got a boon from the gods that he would be invincible as long as he wore an amulet on his arm. And he took care to have the amulet on his person all the time.

However this ruler's wife also had become the devotee of the Jakh horsemen. So she told them that her husband took out the amulet only when he was taking a bath. So the Jakhs climbed a hillock near his palace and fired a missile which hit the bathroom, killing the cruel ruler.

Devotion of the Grateful

Naturally people were happy to be rid of a tyrant and started to worship the horsemen. They raised a temple on the hillock which has figures of 72 white-clad horsemen. People people not only revered them but also started asking for wish-fulfillment from them. It is said that childless people often go to this temple to beget children.

While this temple draws people all round the year, it is at the time of its annual fair that thousands of devotees as well as sightseers and tourists gather in the plain of hill of the temple. The temple is situated in picturesque surroundings so it is a popular spot for sight-seers as well as foreign tourists who regularly visit Kutch.

Is the legend based on truth? Who were the horsemen? Where did they come from? Did they really have magical and medicinal powers? Nobody knows. But the belief in Jakhs continues to draw people this novel temple which is a must-see spot for anybody coming to Kutch.

The Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand - How to Visit Them Responsibly

As a tourist one of the key attractions in Northern Thailand are the hill tribes. Their old ways of life and culture inspire curiosity and wonderment in many.

With such demand to see the hill tribes, visits to hill tribe villages and hill tribe treks have become a money making business giving rise to many ethical questions over how this is being carried out. There are concerns about the impact of tourism to villages, erosion of local culture and the environment and whether the villagers are getting a fair deal from tourism.

Almost all tour agencies in Northern Thailand advertise tours to hill tribe villages, unfortunately most of these are to villages which have been modified for the tourist, so the experience is not in its natural setting. These villages typically charge an entrance fee and stands are set up inside where villagers sell souvenirs and handicrafts. Even the souvenirs and handicrafts are not handmade by themselves but sourced from town. Some also argue that the hill tribes are being exploited by the company that manages the entrance fees, and do not receive a fair pay.

With a little bit of research it is possible to find tour agencies that offer an authentic and ethical experience of the hill tribes. So when inside a village what are the "do's and don'ts" and how do you make sure you a responsible tourist? Here are some tips:

o Always ask for permission before taking photos. Communicate this through body language or ask your guide to help
o If you want to make a donation the proper channels should be used, so talk to your guide as they will know best how to do this.
o Avoid creating a culture of begging by not handing gifts or money out individually
o Show respect for religious symbols or spirit catchers which are often at the front of the village or house
o Support their livelihoods through buying handicrafts they make. This is a great way to help and a more sustainable option than donations
o Dress politely and modestly
o Common sense and courtesy should prevail. Remember a smile goes a long way!
o If you minimise your cultural and environmental impact you can't go far wrong.

Texas and California - Large States and Large Sports Success

As the popular, though admittedly not even close to always correct, saying goes "bigger is better". Although clearly not true in all cases, this popular phrase does in fact often hold true for sports, especially for the states of Texas and California. As sports have evolved into more of a business than just a way to stay in shape and something done for the love of the game, leagues have constantly been, sometimes correctly, accused of trying to make teams in bigger media markets better and more successful. For example, a team in Los Angeles or a team in Dallas would get more attention in the media than a team from a smaller city, and that is just the way things go. Being in a large media market also helps the Texas Contract Warehouse industry and the California Contract Warehouse industries, as more people are in need of warehouses in a larger metropolitan area. Partly because they have the aforementioned advantage, Texas and California professional sports teams have nearly always done well in the recent and distant past.

The second most successful NBA team in the history of the sport is the Los Angeles Lakers, who trail only the Boston Celtics in terms of most titles won by a specific team. Although in the past they were the Minneapolis Lakers, which of course makes more sense because there are for more lakes in Minnesota than California, most of the team's large success has been in the city of angels. Recently, the team has won two consecutive NBA titles under the leadership of future hall of fame coach Phil Jackson and future hall of fame player Kobe Bryant. Previously, the team was most successful when it had point guard Magic Johnson, another hall of famer, and a number of different famous players.

Another largely winning professional sports team in California is football's San Francisco 49ers. The team has recently been quite poor but previously had excellent spells under quarterbacks Joe Montana, widely considered one of the greatest of all time, and Steve Young. Four championships were won with Montana under center in the mid to late 1980's and a further three were obtained under the leadership of Steve young in the early 1990's.

Almost all of the success of Texas in terms of national professional sports rests on the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. The team was in fact so popular in the 1980's and 1990's that they were given the moniker America's Team. The team has been winning for so long that they are in fact first in terms of Super Bowl appearances with eight and tied for second in terms of victories with five.

In the world of sports, typically the phrase bigger is better is in fact true. The bigger the area a team is in the more media exposure they get and the more "help" it is argued they receive from the league they are in to become successful, as is exemplified by the large success in professional sports by teams from the large states of Texas and California.

Amazing Shows That Are Produced by Cirque Du Soleil in Sin City

Las Vegas, also called Sin City has more things to do there than you can fit in a weekend stay. A lot of people go to have access to the variety of gambling games whether it is slot machines, or playing a high stakes game of poker. The hotels and resorts are full of amazing restaurants and spas and pools too to enjoy as well according to a criminal defense attorney. It is referred to the city that never sleeps because there are so many things open and going on at all hours of the night. There are a variety of nightclubs and concerts by amazing musicians like Celine Dion and variety shows and an array of other entertaining features to see says a criminal defense lawyer. One group that dominates the shows is Cirque du Soleil and they have seven different shows right now in Las Vegas which will be described in this article.

Mystere is a classic Cirque du Soleil show that takes place at the Treasure Island hotel and has high energy acrobatics and dramatic dance all done in colorful, vibrant costumes. Some of the acts are Chinese poles, hand to hand balancing, and aerial high bar and bungee which show off the amazing athleticism of the performers and how they make it appear so easy and magical. Another favorite show is titled O and is at the Bellagio hotel. This theatre is unique in that it was made especially for this performance that is mainly done in the water and is basically an aquatic show. It combines acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and aerialists that perform in the water, below the water and above the water making it nothing like you have seen anywhere else.

Another show is called Zumanity and it is definitely only a show for adults to see as it explores human sexuality with a cabaret style production that is shown at New York New York hotel. It combines humor with sensuality with acrobats and dancing in different erotic ways. Another tamer show is known as Ka and is based on an adventurous journey that involves love and conflict. It follows a set of twins in search of their destinies and the journey that involves showing amazing acrobatics, set designs, and a total of 80 different artists performing. This show is done at the MGM hotel and is amazing.

Two newer shows are inspired by music and the first one is called Love which is based on the Beatles songs. This show is done completely to Beatles music involving various performers that dance, do aerial acts and comedic routines at the Mirage hotel. For Beatles fans, this is a must see. The second one is Viva Elvis at the new Aria hotel and combines dance, acrobatics and live music as a tribute to Elvis Presley. There is nothing better for Vegas than a quality Elvis show.

The final show features illusionist Criss Angel and is called Believe. He continues to amaze audiences with his magic and illusions at the Luxor.

Tips For Creating a Great Business Environment

A lot of people who are unfamiliar with the business environment think a successful business is all about selling popular products. While this is necessary, there is a lot more that goes into success than just making sales. You have to work on the quality of your products, your customer service, and your reputation on the ongoing basis. All of these things are investments and should be viewed as such. That means they are going to take money and time, but in the end will be worth the effort because they lead to business growth. The trick is figuring out how best to spend your time and money when it comes to making your business special. Doing the little things is important and you want to make sure you do the right little things. If you are planning to thank your employees or work on creating a more cohesive unit, there are a variety of things you can plan. Consider the assistance of a corporate events planner or someone who has experience planning team building events. This guarantees you will put together something professional and fun that will help your employees feel refreshed and rejuvenated. You will be surprised at how this improves their attitude and leaves them feeling better about their daily tasks. In the end, this improves your customer services. Happy employees work better with clients and potential clients, and they take pride in their work, which is something that shows when they are working with the public.

In addition to keeping employees happy, owning your own business is all about quality control at the best price. It is important to offer customers the best products and services you can, but you have to do this within your budget. If you were to just pull out all of the stops with no regard to budget, you would end up making no profit. On the other hand, if you cut corners too much to save money, you will soon find nobody is interested in your product anymore. If things are done on the cheap, it shows and potential clients know what is going on. The best thing to do is to find balance between cost cutting measures and quality.

This means you will still be making a profit, but you will be doing so by providing high quality and great customer service to your clients. Clients do not always want the most expensive option, but they do want the best quality option for the most reasonable price from a company they can trust. They may even be willing to spend a few extra dollars to get something from a company with whom they have a personal relationship. Go that extra mile in taking care of your employees and your clients. Combining a great staff that takes pride in their work with quality, dependable services and merchandise is the best way to have a successful company. For years of success, take care of those around you on whom you depend.

Rome's Top 5 Day Trips

A first glance at the Tiber and old cobblestone walkways underscores why Rome is called the "Eternal City." A powerhouse of politics, war, intrigue, religious power plays and art, the city has incorporated the layers of its history into a breathtaking mix of sights and sounds. Gaze at obelisks, trace the steps of medieval residents and come face to face with remnants of fascist architecture - all within about a 20 minute stroll. While it is impossible to do the city justice in the span of a short holiday, there are five day trips any visitor must make or they'll miss the heart and soul of the city forever.

1. Spend at day in and around the Capuchin Crypt. Located in the basement of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini (Lady of the Conception of the Capuchins), this crypt is world famous for its goose bump inducing motif. The building dates back to 1631, and at the present time there are 4,000 friars buried in the crypt; except, the friars are not exactly buried. Do not forget to also behold the elaborate artwork in the five chapels. This is a day of reflection and art appreciation.

2. Take in the sights and sounds of the Quirinal Hill. Savvy holiday travelers look for discount hotels nearby to make this actually the headquarters of their trip. Quirinal Hill is home to the Piazza Barberini and Rome's center, the world famous Triton Fountain and of course the Fontana delle Api.

3. Worthy of another day trip is the Villa Medici. Even though it is a museum, it is interesting to note that the building is actually owned by the government of France. Rome hotels nearby cater to hopeful applicants to the art institute that now resides within the villa. While the demand for seats far outranks the available spots, the edifice and its art exhibits are well attended by students, the general public and the hopeful.

4. Somewhat misnamed, the Villa Borghese is not exactly an edifice but more a sprawling garden that houses a number of museums. Spread over 80 hectares of land, there is an eerily British feel to the landscape design. Do not forget to seek out the Tempietto di Minerva and spend ample time at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna. Better yet, book a room at one of the many discount hotels nearby and making this a multiple daytrip adventure.

5. Last but certainly not least is the Appian Way. It connects ancient Rome and the Caesars with modern Rome and the quest for old footprints. At a length of about 200 km, you might have to pick and choose your enjoyment of this historic roadway. Visit the Church of Domine Quo Vadis, the tomb of Cecilia Metella and remember the crucifixion of Spartacus.

You may find that these daytrips are worth their own return visit to Rome Hotels situated nearby may offer you bargains if you identify yourself as a return guest; it never hurts to ask!

Spanish Apartments to Rent in Begur, Costa Brava - How Can You Cut Your Holiday Bill?

Spanish apartments to rent direct from the property owners can save you money. Traditionally, holiday makers used travel agents or tour operators who make their money (commission) when holidays are booked through them. However it is possible to cut out this commission by booking an apartment holiday in Spain direct with the owners. So Spanish apartments to rent, especially in the pretty town of Begur, can be booked on line and direct with the owner. The simplest way is by typing into search engines like Google, Yahoo, AOL etc. search terms like holiday villa select, owners direct-Spain or even Spanish apartments to rent etc. Needless to say, when you do book on-line, you should always make sure you are transferred directly to the owners and that you are not dealing with the website manager or in fact an agent as they all receive commission for which, of course, you the holiday maker end up paying.

A villa for a holiday rental in Spain that is booked directly with the owner is readily available in the lovely town of Begur on the Costa Brava. Begur approximately two hours drive from Barcelona which, if you fancy visiting, is one of Europe's most cosmopolitan cities. The medieval town of Begur is situated at the foot of a 16th century castle and is about seven hundred feet above sea level with marvellous views over the coastline. Many holidaymakers like to take it easy and explore the quaint streets of this fascinating town and then wander down to the central square which has plenty of sidewalk cafes. This is a perfect place to take a breather and relish a glass of the splendid local wine made from grapes grown in the nearby vineyards. Many first-rate Spanish apartments to rent are available in the town and surrounding area.

Villa holiday rental's in Spain are well established and can be found around the coves which are characteristic of this coastline. There are five bays of Begur, all with gorgeous beaches and particular attractions, each surrounded by wooded hills hiding quiet roads and beautifully private properties. However Spanish apartments to rent in the town centre are also readily available, this can be a really handy base for many activities which are accessible in the local area including - water sports, boat charter, scuba diving, hiking, golf, tennis, mountain-biking and horse riding. Gastronomic fairs, concerts and summer festivals with strong Catalan traditions are also on offer in this fabulous family-friendly town.

If you do book an apartment holiday in Spain and select the lovely village of Begur, why not take some time out to try the local time-honored dishes? In fact the township of L'Escala, which is close by, is famous for menus containing local fish and anchovies. In Begur the long-established local dishes include Arroz negro, which is prepared with rice and squid ink, and Suquet - a soup made with potatoes and fish. The Mediterranean diet is usually thought of as one of the most nutritionally healthy in Europe.

Other towns, close to Begur with Spanish apartments to rent are Palamos and Roses. Palamos has lovely beaches, quiet sandy coves and an exciting nightlife centred on the marina area. It has a colourful history and there are many ancient sites, monuments and buildings to explore. It is a favourite place for cruise liners to stop off. Roses, further up the coast, is a fairly peaceful easy-going town well-renowned for its fishing industry. However the glorious beaches are the biggest draw for most tourists who want to rent an apartment holiday in Spain. Why not enjoy the fine sandy beaches and explore the interesting rocky coves, by booking your villa holiday rental in Spain today direct from the owners?

Last but not least, when you have booked one of the many Spanish apartments to rent direct with the owner and your flights are booked you can relax. However we would always urge that you contact a good holiday insurance agent and seek advice on the best travel insurance to meet your needs.
