My first "Defender of the Fatherland" Holidays in Russia

At the end of February, Russia celebrates a national holiday under the title "Defender of the Fatherland Day. This is one of their main national holidays, and apart from the work, almost all Russians celebrate the festival in an active form or another. In 2007 I had the pleasure of Angarsk, in Russia with my Russian wife and we were invited by friends for his family to go with them and them to a recreation area outside the city to celebrate this holiday. My wife asked me if I wanted to go, and I answered with my usual answer to these questions, although I do not know exactly what the holiday was or what we were doing. I was just in Russia with her for a few weeks and was completely familiar with most things there, and not explain what happened. All I knew was that it was a holiday and we were invited his friends to go somewhere to do something. WeatherI must stress that most of the things they asked me to do in Russia was done with this vague idea of what I did, but that was fine.

We drove about an hour into his old friend, the model of Lada, a Russian production car looks like a small Fiat square, in the snow light on the way to a mountainous area outside the city. Not snowing at the time, but in Angarsk in southern Siberia, about a foot of snow covers the ground from November to April or May The ride waspleasant, except for our friends wife, who had many stories about him on how to drive and its emphasis on the fact that the car breaks down or not. There were four of us adults in the car and the fact that we're going uphill all the way, we could only around 30 or 40 mph. It 's been the car could do, but it has lightened the mood a bit' because we laughed about it.

Friends of my wife, Alex and Anna, were very nice and we all go together well, but it was always a bit 'strangeme when we were together, because I do not speak the Russian language, and spoke only a few words in English. I was an outsider, because the three of them in an ongoing conversation and I did not understand a single thing they said. They do not seem to mind, but after some time in a limited space, has always seemed to me to start a little 'annoying. My wife has translated some things I asked, but as the typical Russian, very quickly under the spellconversation and forgot to translate. Russian speakers are very hard and intense and always seemed to me that fight, but when I asked what they were angry, I had the usual response: "We are not fighting!" Later I learned that if I could not understand their conversations, I would just observe and enjoy the game.

We arrived at the recreation area and their parents met there with two children, Anna and Alex, the boys. It 'was a beautiful parkarea on top of a hill in the woods. There were wooden houses for rent, and a central lodge open for dinner and drinks. Many people came to the playground for their holiday break, and the object was to find a room and a barbecue grill to prepare for a picnic. The fact that it was very cold outside this plan does not appear to affect the majority of the people and have reached their planned activities. We were able to form a grid and a table to find, but wesoon discovered that the wind was too much for us to be able to maintain the desired layout so that the plan of eating out has been put aside in favor of going into the lodge. Anna's father did and managed to keep the grill cooking the meat, but everything has been moved inside. This suited me fine, because it is in South America that I was, I was not looking for a stay outside all day in the cold.

While his father was busy cooking, we diverted our attention onThe entertainment for the day. There was a long, long, long path is removed from the side of the mountain and the people were small rental, air hoses around to sit and slide down the hill. I did not describe these pipes and tubes, because they are not designed for tires, and they were much smaller. There were probably only for this purpose. However, we rented one and went to the mound. If the man of the group and one with the camera, I thoughtperfectly content to watch and take pictures. This worked for a short period, but the band quickly and forced me to participate, so I did! In short, it was a lovely day to slip down the hill and back up. The slide was very exciting, almost to the point of his fear, because you have built a little 'speed on this important small tube slide unbalanced wake up this long without any protection. It was noteven slightly, the end to stop except for a brief space on slope, with trees at the end. I never hit the trees, but I used up all the snow to stop. There were some mounds of snow are designed, or at least I think they were intentional, causing dump and roll to reach the end of the clearing. Once again, every time I rolled up and dumped, and uses all the clearing.

E 'pregnant when my wife and I slide together. I never used to feelsliding down a hill, sometimes less if you were to turn what looked like a 100 mph. If we are united, about 50 percent of the time it would crash and spill in the middle of the slope. The tube was just too unbalanced. But we never got hurt, and I was surprised how this form of public activity can be punished in a public place because of the danger of accidents, but I had to keep reminding myself that this is Russia, not America , and the same rules did notapply.

After we had as much fun as we feel, we all gathered in the lodge for drinks and foods. It 'was a great moment, and with the help of teenagers, that we, who spoke good English, because it is taught in school, I was able to communicate with the entire group, making it a very nice experience. We all had fun!
Since a military leave, the army of kids were there with a portable table, where samples of their field rations for the warmthe public. I had the opportunity to experience and was not bad, except for the fact that not much flavor, but that was a side event of the celebration. My first defense of the homeland for holidays in Russia were very nice and funny. I was struck by how the local population turned out to celebrate this holiday, and if I would learn in time, like all the holidays.

Creative alternatives to traditional Halloween candy to Trick Or Treat Night

When our daughter was small, we tried to work creatively with the items that we would hand out every Halloween to Trick or treater's who stopped at our house.

Over the years I have learned a great variety of goods on hand for that special night. I like to give the necessary information for their age, so I make 3 baskets full of goodies for the objects of a particular age. cheap wicker baskets that can be purchased at your local dollar store are great for planning your Halloweengoodies. When the child comes to my door, I can choose the right basket and let the child pick something out of it.

Children get candy very much for this time of year, so if you are looking for some fun alternatives to distribute candy this year, I think that some creative and inexpensive ideas to be found from the following list.

Travel toothbrushes

Travel-size toothpaste

Sports bottle Reusable Straws

Temporary Tattoos (boys)

PonytailHolders (girls)

Hair Barrettes (girls)

Glow Sticks, necklaces and bracelets

jewelry (Dollar Store)

Mini Die-Cast Cars (dollar store)

Boxes of crayons Mini (4 packs)

Pencils

In canceling Halloween Fun Shapes

Silly Putty (dollar store)

Mini Cans of clay

Mini holiday coloring books and activity pads

Rental fridge magnets

Holiday Mini Vinyl window clings

Mini BottlesBlowing Bubbles

Mini Holiday Foam Stamps

Mini stamp pads

Keychains

Decks of playing cards

Bookmarks

The certificates for a free movie rental

Character or Holiday Pins

Sheets of Stickers

Bandana

Sports Tickets

movie tickets or vouchers Film

Finger Puppets

Travel-size boxes of cereal

Fast Food, Beverage, Fries and Ice Cream Certificates

Tip # 1: During the year, when we eat infast-food restaurants, we order meals for children ourselves. We take all these 'kids meal' toys and put them in a large wicker basket. When Trick or Treat night rolls around, you get the basket, and distribute these toys to the children that our house on Halloween night to visit.

Tip # 2: Every year we receive a number of children with their siblings and parents at our front door. I want several jars of baby food or children teething biscuits on hand for those who keep our house a visit. Indeed, acandy bar would be inappropriate to give a child that small.

When it comes to Halloween, the most important part is to have fun and stay safe. I think it's important for a variety of age appropriate items on hand to give out to trick or treater's come to your door.

Small and medium-sized advertising agencies need a business calling program

A proactive program cold calling is essential to ensure new business for small and medium-sized business organizations. Especially during tough economic times.

With the possibility of cold calling, an essential ingredient for all your posts on new commercial initiatives agency. If your new business person can not or only cold calls you need to find someone who can. This is not a condition for a Holiday or BBDO Hill, but if yours is a smallmedium-sized agency is an important part of the program of new entrepreneurship.

Just this afternoon, I picked up the phone and made a cold call on behalf of one of my clients. I was calling from my list of daily activities. The first task was the vice president of marketing for a major developer of commercial properties. The prospect picked up the phone on the third ring. In five minutes I had a security agreement at the prospect and his marketing staff to our office to visitreview some of our work and how we can help their marketing challenges. Now that the successes are not always so easy. This particular view had called me many times before only to get his answering machine. But, persistence paid off.

Here are ten tips for successful execution of a program to cold:

1. Someone should be responsible for making calls on behalf of your desk. Whether you nominate a person with telephone skills in this task or hire someone from outsideagency, one person having this responsibility. I found out the hard way, by assigning the prospects of a group of people never works. It 's like herding cats. And they can do more harm than good.

2. Identify your goals are best for your office. Use a striped, rather than a shotgun approach. business easily from companies like Hoover, the list of Advertising Redbooks. I have them all.

3. I use my Entourage to my list of activitiescalls. I can information from Hoover, the list of advertising Redbook and easily copy and paste into separate tasks, the prospects contact information, a section on the company and also map data memory. This makes me keep a log of my activities, be it a phone call, personal note, sending a sampling of materials, etc. I'm sure there are better programs, but this works for me. E 'simplistic and help me be consistent. Updating information,Often, when the phone is easy. My tasks are ready for the day when I power up my laptop. All you have to do is make calls.

4. I rarely leave a voicemail message. If the prospect does not respond, I reassign the task to another time of day. Sometimes I call the same prospect five or six times a day. If they were not accessible to all grants me another day. If you have a voicemail message that you get the ball in the right perspective for the return of yourcall. Most of the time the call simply returns. Keep leaving messages makes you a parasite. No one likes a parasite.

5. I'm trying to develop a relationship with the 'gate-keepers. "Whether, personal assistant receptionist, a young person in the marketing department. Who can give me with the" secular nature of the earth "and the inside information of value. What I did for a meeting with the president of a great brand outdoor Atlanta from a cold call. I learned fromtalking to the receptionist at the company, the track was only a couple of months and was still taking an assistant. He told me that his answer calls. I continued to call every day for more than a month until he picked up the phone. Of course he had no idea I was so stubborn and I was able to get a face-to-face that the calling program.

6. If I appeal to an uncertain business and marketing decision makers, I just ask the receptionist to staffoversees their marketing and advertising, and nine times out of ten, I give the names of people and if you ask me, I can get those too often their direct line and email address.

7. When I view the phone trying to determine whether they get a real prospect. You may find that the business potential for their marketing and advertising in-house or have an ongoing relationship with an agency for over ten years and am very satisfied.Do not bother those who have no prospects of profitability. Your goal is not to get meetings, but to secure business for the broker.

8. That said, it still means the customer / agency is about 2.5 years past. This means that a lot of turn and opportunity. If you learn that a competitor has secured a new customer account, it would be wise of you to take note of this and follow up with the prospect after the first six months and periodicallyin subsequent years. I use my task list as a reminder of the follow-up.

9. I prefer to "warm calls" to "cold calling". To warm conversations I have the perspective of general mailing list for the agency. I want a series of agency self-promotional postcards that are at least six times a year. Smart short messages, which are easier for the agency to design and produce. This implies a level of awareness of the agencies. 'S also useful to have a PR strategy. It's amazing what a little 'can do PRthe desk as the hottest store in town. I recommend an external agency or a PR freelancer to have a consistent public relations effort. It 's always best to call a potential client has some knowledge of your office.

10. Ours is a business relationship. The first phone to make a report. People like to work with others who know and want. Not to sell quickly. Allow the prospect to tell you about their company and their marketing challenges. You candetermine what you know to focus your questions and discussion about them.

What I shared is not very sophisticated. It's hard work that the majority within the agency can not understand on a regular basis. But I know for sure that it works.

The main thing you do is do it!

L ', Thrill ecstasy and magic of South India Tour Vacations

For the traveller looking for plenty of sun, adventure and a roaring time, the fitting response is a South India Holiday Tour. Filled with quaint experiences which vary in virtually every inch of space, you are unlikely to find such a diverse experience elsewhere.

Lake Havasu City - Lakeside Hotel & Community keep pace

The adage: "Go West, young man, Go West" should be amended to recommend to the far west to Lake Havasu City Arizona. This region is rightly known as the seaside resort town of Arizona. The majestic Colorado River, at this point in its journey 1400 miles, has been dammed to form Lake Havasu with a large 25,000 hectares. The rapid growth in Lake Havasu City is a continental zone, plus an artificial island, formed by the dredging of a stagnant stream and convert it into an integralpart of the lake or river.

We first visited Lake Havasu City about 1999 and, by way of confession, not very impressed. Maybe we were not looking pretty. But in 2008, through visits and other resources, we have seen first hand what a thriving little metropolis.

Lake Havasu City was founded in 1962 as a work of industrial and visionary Robert McCulloch (1911-1977). The lake dates back to 1930, when Parker Dam was used to control the Colorado River inparties.

One talking point of the city is that it bridges transferred to the U.S., Lock, Stock and stone, from London in 1968-1971 functions. Since the authorities in London have decided to auction their sinking London Bridge, McCulloch had the idea to bid on it and the resurrection of the original stones in Lake Havasu. The project has cost about $ 7 million, most of all made of stone transport.

Of course, only seemed to walk on London Bridge rebuiltin Arizona. On the side of the city, under the bridge, is a rural area known as the English village, with London Bridge Hotel. We enjoyed walking and window shopping.

As you would expect, the city's main source of income is tourism. However, with 8 boat manufacturers with a presence in the neighborhood, the area is known for its range of boats as well as the annual races and competitions to showcase their latest products. It has the title correctly, watercraft Capital of the World, andhosted the annual International Jet Sports Boat Association (IJSBA) World Finals since 1982. From our hotel room balcony, we enjoyed seeing many of the other watercraft.

Fishing, paddle boats, canoeing, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing, diving and sailing are also available. What is beautiful is capable of all the necessary equipment for an hour, half day or full day rental. This area is becoming a destination of choice for water sports in the south-west.

country lovers needdo not get bored. There is plenty to do within a considerable amount of public shoreline, all within the city limits. This area includes London Bridge Beach Rotary Beach Park and Windsor Beach. In addition to public beaches and miles of shoreline, Lake Havasu State Park also offers camping, 138 boat in campsites. We were able to enjoy just walking through the parks.

Golfers are not left beaten, as Lake Havasu City is made up of five distinctly different golf courses. Are aimed at golfersall levels of expertise. In addition, they have more courses in the program. Since they are not golfers, we can not experience first-hand.

One aspect of the region that struck us was the commitment of the people and the city for activities throughout the year to maintain a lively, attractive. Voluntary organizations and the construction of local parks to keep up with improvements.

During a visit in February, we came to the Winter Festival. We have seenstand about 250 participants and 35-50K for a body, food crafts, demos, and related sites, along a closed Main Street. It had been years since we attended a traditional cuisine. Walking up and down Main, we discovered that the local color and history major suppliers added to our excursion.

Combined with a week or so later, Winter Blast, an annual convention of manufacturers of fireworks, planned. Provides an annual exhibition of recent innovations in their field. It culminates in a large, freefireworks. Winter Blast is something we all want to see on Saturday after President's Day. This event has been described by some, with much enthusiasm, we will try to participate next year.

After the festival, we checked in Arizona only all-beachfront resort, the Nautical Inn http://www.nauticalinn.com. Its 139 beaches and lake view accommodations offer a relaxing atmosphere.

That evening we went a mile Island Mall & Brewery and enjoyed aexcellent dinner at Shugrue's Restaurant & Bar http://www.shugrues.com. We enjoyed the man-sized portions of steak and halibut, creamed baby spinach, and stuffed baked potatoes, topped with bananas foster for two. Our young waiter, son of the head chef, told us in the last two selections. When you check to see if we were happy with this new innovative dishes, he did not realize that for us, brought back memories of the '60s and '70s.

We were fortunate to have the next morningJared Lyman's Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) http://www.golakehavasu.com give us a tour of the city and surrounding areas. Many parks in the city are easily accessible and well maintained. Jared took us out of town for a visit by members of the Chamber are to expand and improve. To hear him describe how long the posts of stone leads his team and forge a number of routes, on foot, led us to appreciate.

We were surprised to learn that, accordingDr. Michael Rourke, a member of the Faculty of Life Sciences Mohave Community College, "There are more than 300 species of birds [water] is Lake Havasu their home or use it as a stage in their migration route." Most are at the end of September and late spring. Some good sites to see in Mesquite Bay, South Dike Road, Bill Williams Refuge, Parker Dam, and the AHA Khav Preserve. We were surprised by the number of species that we observed.

After a morning walk, lunchJavelin's Mexican Restaurant http://www.javelinacantina.com/, we found their fajitas with an outstanding choice.

We were alone after dinner and decided to an unforgettable boat trip on the lake in the Dixie Belle. Sailing from the English village of dock next to London Bridge, the narrated tour was exceptional. We saw all the lights around the lake.

The closest you can get to experience what it was on a boat on the Colorado River with areplicated one (driven by two engines instead of inboard power has always existed between 1852-1909 Cottonwood). At that point, the Colorado River could be sailed non-stop with a dredge, barge, or log.

The Dixie Belle, a ship of 68 tons is 51 + meters in length and carries 122 passengers. One of the current captains, Greg Smith, says the Dixie Belle sternwheeler replica old South Captain Smith was piloting the ship from 2005. In making this visit,it is easy to take a step back in time.

The dinner came around, we were still the content of the meal. So we opted for dessert at Cold Stone. Returning to our room, we enjoyed watching the lights on the lake.

The next morning we wanted to try breakfast at the Café Makai. Located below Shugrue, the Makai was one of our favorite places. There were many more local tourists, and it was easy to see why. We tried the eggs benedict and French toast acclaimed. Our breakfast wasgood, warm, with excellent service and good coffee. We found it very relaxing, while overlooking the lake with a beautiful view of London Bridge.

After breakfast, we went into town for a tour of Lake Havasu City Historical Museum. Very little, it's worth the time to an hour or so to visit.

We opted for a downtown lunch milkshake. Then we went back to The Boat Inn Robert P. Keller meet for an afternoon tour, focusing on lighthouses. InOver London Bridge, Lake Havasu is now 14 lighthouses, modeled on a smaller scale working lighthouses on both the Great Lakes and East Coast. They serve as indicators of lake navigation and attract tourists. Bob is a Lake Havasu City history and character re-enactors who travel to life. He did a tour together for us, but we were particularly interested in how the idea of lighthouses was established. What started as his attempt of a man is aclub and its members try adding a few lights years. His garage is the right club this workshop under way for the club project.

That night we did tours and chose to spend time with friends visiting from Chicago. We picked them up and went to Angelina. This small and intimate Italian restaurant is reasonably priced with well-prepared dishes. It 'was a wonderful end to a wonderful 3-night get-a-way.

Lake Havasu City promotes many annual events including the Havasu ClassicIn April, when the classic cars roll into town. October features Rods and Relics Run To The Sun, with over 1000 cars from 1972 and older. October is also a guest day in London Bridge, which is a holiday for two weeks. November brings the N Chillin 'Brewfest Swilling. In December, the promenade decorated with more than one million Christmas lights. Together with the Festival of Lights, a holiday boat parade is a part of the festivities.
